Top 10 Warning Signs That Indicates An Unhealthy Gut

Your gut is the entire digestive tract that runs from the food pipe (esophagus) to your rectum. It does more than just take in food and excrete food. The gut is our second brain. The microbes and nerves in the gut can launch communication with the brain. This affects hunger, mood and a lot of other things. An Unhealthy Gut means a proper balance of good and bad bacteria.

The right balance of what you eat feeds your body. It also feeds the good bacteria in your body. The gut allows the food you eat to be effectively used by the body.

There are many physical, emotional and mental warning signs that can signals that your guts need some extra care and healing.

Here are 10 warning signs that you have an unhealthy gut and some tips along with it to heal it.

If you face trouble in losing weight no matter what you eat or do, It may be due to an unhealthy gut.

As an overweight lose weight, their gut starts getting more balanced!

5.Acid Reflux

Frequent and grim acid reflux is often caused by an unhealthy gut. This may explain why nothing seems to help the constant heartburn.

Acid reflux, bloating, ulcers, burping are often caused by a build-up of unhealthy bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract and stomach.

Antacids can actually help this bacteria thrive. Normally stomach acid kills the bad bacteria. Which means if you over neutralize your stomach, those bad bacteria grow!

6.Yeast Infections

Yeast can grow uncontrollably when your system is imbalanced.  The imbalance in the gut can show up as digestive issues, fungal infections of the skin, constant fatigue or even fibromyalgia ( tender joints and muscle.)

7.Lack of energy/ Fatigue

If you drag yourself to office, school or wherever you go, you probably have bad bacteria in a huge number inside your body.

An unhealthy balance of bacteria in the gut can prevent your body from absorbing the nutrients it needs from foods, leaving you tired most of the times.

An unhealthy gut is also permeable, meaning that it lets in toxins through the intestinal walls. These unhealthy chemicals may affect your energy levels badly!

8.High Cholesterol

Gut microbes may influence your heart health as well. There are a total of 34 microorganisms in the digestive tract that can influence the levels of fat in your blood. These affect the cholesterol and triglycerides levels badly.

Accumulation of fat around the heart has a very bad impact on blood circulation and pumping of blood.

Eating food less in saturated fat and adding more vegetables, fruits and healthy fat ( nuts and avocados) will generously lower the cholesterol levels as well as heal the gut!

9.Antibiotics not responding

Used correctly, antibiotics are one of the greatest innovations of modern medicine, but using them incorrectly can create gut issues. The food industry uses them indiscriminately on factory-farmed animals.

An unhealthy gut doesn’t let the antibiotics do its work properly. From slower response rate to no reaction at all, the bad bacteria in your gut reduces the efficiency of antibiotics.

Some doctors even use them on viral infections( which is not required). Antibiotics wipe out bad bacteria, but in return, a lot of good bacteria are also washed away.

10.Vitamins and Minerals deficiency

A healthy gut also plays an important role when it comes to helping your body produce and synthesize vitamins and minerals. When your gut bacteria is out of control, your body faces problems of minerals and vitamins absorption

Some of the vitamins and minerals that are deficient in the body due to an unhealthy gut are:

  • Vitamin D
