Liver Detox
Liver DetoxDetoxification of the internal organs is as important as external organs. We often neglect the most important parts of our bodies due to the hustle and bustle of the lives we are living. We often feel exhausted without even doing a lot of work. Liver Damage might be one of the causes of fatigue and exhaustion. Too many toxins in our body overdrive our Liver, Pancreas and of course the Intestines. Unhealthy lifestyle is one of the major causes of Liver damage. Don’t we all need rest if we have overworked, leave alone overworking, we do need rest every day. Similarly, Liver too requires rest pamper and soothe.
We consume all kinds of processed food filled with toxins, the liver is the organ that processes all these toxins and flushes them out of our bodies i.e., it Detoxifies our body. These toxins make our Liver overwork when we overeat processed food. This actually takes a toll on the Liver, so from time to time, we need to cleanse our Liver.

What are the signs of an unhealthy Liver? How to Liver Detox and what to eat in order to get a healthy Liver? I’ll answer all of these for you.

Signs of Liver Damage!

  • ABDOMINAL SWELLING- This is one of the most common symptoms that signal that your liver is overworking. Shortly after this, you will start feeling abdominal pain, especially in the upper abdominal area, under the lower ribs. The pain is not chronic, it doesn’t stay, it comes and goes.
  • FATIGUE– This is another frequent, common symptom of liver damage. If you easily get tired and fatigues this might be the sign that your liver is not being able to process the toxins quickly enough.
  • UNUSUAL BRUISING– Unusual bruising occurs when your body produces fewer proteins. We require proteins for blood clotting, and if we don’t get them enough, we easily bruise. This phenomena of not getting enough protein is another sign of Liver malfunction.
  • DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS– Digestive problems are very common when the liver isn’t working properly. Gastric issues, GERD, Acidity, and flatulence are some of the symptoms.

Food that cleanses Liver!

This is loaded with vitamins and minerals. Most of us are reluctant to eat garlic because we can’t stand the odour, or our stomach simply can’t process it. But is highly recommended to eat at least one clove per week. Garlic basically helps by activating enzymes that flushes out toxins. The white bulbs of garlic also contain selenium and allicin, two compounds that improve liver health.

Lemons and Limes

Enriched with vitamin C lemons and limes are also great options for keeping a healthy liver. The best way to stimulate liver is by squeezing a lemon in water and drinking it early in the morning (although I won’t recommend it to people with Acidic ulcers and gastric issues since lemon is highly acidic).
For liver damage, compounds in lemon help by synthesizing toxins into compounds that water absorbs, after which they are flushed out of our system via urine.

Just like lemons and limes, these are a great source of vitamin C. However these are even more beneficial due to their richness in pectin, a chemical compound that helps the body cleanse and flush out toxins. By consuming an apple a day we are actually helping the liver to cope with the load.

Most nuts are good for liver detox. However, walnuts are the only ones that contain arginine, an amino acid that helps the liver with ammonia, one of the deadliest toxins. In addition, walnuts contain omega-3 fatty acids, which provides the liver with the ingredients for proper functioning. Chewing walnuts releases the acids.

Leafy Green Vegetables

Eat these cooked, drink juices made from these or even eat them raw, these are best allies for our liver and its healthy functioning. They help in sucking up environmental toxins from our blood. Leafy green vegetables also help in neutralizing heavy metals, pesticides, and chemicals. Spinach, mustard green, and arugula are among the best.
